Chemical Process Engineer - Commissioning and Operation

 

Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS)  is a rapidly growing industry, currently being deployed globally as a response to climate change and the urgent need to reduce carbon emissions to the atmosphere. We at CO2 Capsol offer a post-combustion Carbon Capture technology to large-scale CO2 emitters. What differentiates us from other players in the market is the utilisation of the safe and environmentally friendly Potassium Carbonate as an absorbent, combined with low capture costs, and an innovative licensing business model. Our international team consists of highly skilled professionals from various backgrounds.

To meet the growing demand for our CapsolGoTM carbon capture demonstration unit, we are seeking a Chemical Process Engineer with a focus on commissioning and operation. Preferably, the applicant has experience in commissioning of power plants / industrial facilities and would enjoy taking a great deal of responsibility for the execution of demonstration campaigns of our CapsolGoTM offering, internationally.

 Application deadline is April 14th, 2021. Our office is based in Oslo and the position requires international travel most of the time, mainly in Europe.

 

Your tasks:

  • Execute commissioning and operation activities at our CapsolGoTM Carbon Capture unit - from delivery to site to the end of testing campaign.
  • Perform on-site sampling of chemical solutions on a daily or weekly basis during the test campaigns.
  • Represent CO2 Capsol and be the client’s main point of contact for during the demonstration campaigns.
  • Contribute to the development of full-scale commissioning and operational procedures/manuals for our full-scale offering Capsol EoPTM.
  • Multiply your knowledge and on-site experience into the organisation, to support the development of new patents and processes.
  • Present your on-site experience in client meetings and exhibitions
  • Take an active role in HAZOP, risk assessments, operational planning for each demonstration campaigns.
  • Be an important contributor to the company collaborative culture and social environment.

Ideal candidate / Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years relevant working experience in one ore more of the following fields: Chemical Engineering, Commissioning of power plants /industrial facilities, Commissioning of gas processing units, (Chemical) process engineering, I&C Commissioning, Electrical Commissioning.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in commissioning and operation of plants, ideally complemented with profound understanding of mechanical, electrical, and chemical processes.
  • Preferably already based in the Nordics, although a relocation offer may be considered for the right candidates.

Personal and social skills:

  • Strong self-drive, self-motivation and ability to work across disciplines.
  • Very good technical understanding and confidence in interacting with the customer. 
  • Team-player and social. 
  • Very good communication skills in English (required). Other European languages are a plus.
  • Flexibility for extensive travel activities, mainly in Europe

Carbon Capture, Technical Specialist – Open Application

To meet the growing demand for our technology, we are seeking Carbon Capture Specialists, preferably with previous experience in the industry, who would enjoy taking a great deal of responsibility for the development and implementation of projects, in addition to developing new patents and processes together with our team. 

The role is based in our offices in Oslo.

Your specific position and responsibility will be based on your expertise, career goals and CO2 Capsol’s business strategy going forward. In all cases, we expect you to:

  • Contribute to the optimization of existing processes, and development of new patents and processes.
  • Multiply your knowledge and experience into the organisation.
  • Present our technology in client meetings and exhibitions.
  • Take an active role in design reviews, HAZOP, risk assessments, process validation and qualifications.
  • Be an important contributor to the company collaborative culture and social environment.

Ideal candidate / Qualifications:

  • 5+ years relevant working experience in one ore more of the following fields: Chemical process engineering, Process Engineering, Control Design, Rotating Equipment Specialist, Compressor / Expander Selection, Dynamic Simulations.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience in Carbon Capture, ideally complemented with multidisciplinary understanding is a big plus.
  • Preferably already based in the greater Oslo area, although a relocation offer may be considered for the right candidates.

Personal and social skills: 

  • Strong self-drive, self-motivation and ability to work across disciplines.
  • Curiosity to explore new areas of expertise.
  • Very good commercial understanding and confidence in interacting with the customer.  
  • Team-player and social. 
  • Very good communication skills in English (required).
